Undated Entry

Kate Maeve Crosby

I never thought I’d write this. If you're reading this… you’ve found the truth I buried. Not just in this journal, but in myself.

Heidi isn’t just some deranged woman who kidnapped me out of nowhere. She’s my half-sister. We share the same father — a man who left two families behind and buried it all under silence.

I found out when I was sixteen. My mom never wanted me to know, but I snooped through her files one night and found a letter. One from Heidi’s mother… addressed to mine.

I never confronted Heidi. I never said anything. I just… watched her from afar. She never knew we were connected. Not until a year ago, when I slipped up. I said something — a name, a location — I don’t even remember. But something changed in her eyes.

Now I think she’s trying to finish the silence our parents started. Or maybe she wants to punish me for existing.

I should’ve told someone. I should’ve told Doris. Or, what, even Kimberly. But I didn’t. I kept pretending everything was fine.

If this is the last thing I leave behind, let it be this: She’s more dangerous than you think. Not just because of what she’s done. But because she thinks it’s justice.

Find the truth. Tell them. Finish what I couldn’t.
